Community Box

In 2021, Still Space Theatre and The SuperGeographics presented a series of workshops of regionally specific artforms throughout India, connecting indigenous artforms to our global community.

Community Box was a series of online workshops facilitated by a network of artist communities across India, ran as part of Still Space Theatre's #ForArtistsandArts initiative support artists in India adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown. The initiative saw 1,000+ artists supported with rations, medicines, monthly income, emergency funds and vaccines. Community Box was a continuation of this work, aiming to enact change within the arts ecosystem by uplifting traditional artforms & artists.

By centering the artist, we celebrated the necessity of arts in regional culture while tangibly supporting communities hardest hit during Covid.
