SCRATCH PAD

In December of 2021, company members Dante Belletti, Caitlin George, and Jonathan Taylor will meet in Mexico City for a week of New Play Development as part of our Studio Weeks program. This week will serve as a creative scratchpad in the development of as least three projects to prepare them for dedicated rehearsal periods in the coming years.
Following Dante’s Studio Week focused on developing text, we will begin developing movement for 17 Times, a new play about our relationship to art and the space we take, as seen through an absurdist lens.
We’ll break ground on Power Play, a piece that expresses various thinkers’ proposals for organizing society and draws conclusions from their collision.

Finally, we’re excited to crack open a piece from our past: Panic Everything’s Fine. In 2017 (as In The Water), The SuperGeographics premiered Panic at Manhattan’s The Tank. The play followed 24 hours of events that lead to the Earth’s destruction, exploring over-arching societal feelings of anxiety and impending catastrophe. We feel that it’s time to revise and remount this piece within the context of the last half decade.

This is a fantastic opportunity for unrestricted creative generation, and we’re excited to share more as we move through our week in Mexico.
